We are thrilled to announce the launch of our very first Refugee Pathways Campaign! Refugee Pathways envisions a world in which all refugees can relocate safely and find protection in a humane and dignified way. For us, this means researching and publishing information regarding legal pathways for refugees as they seek safety.

Refugee Pathways was founded in 2017, learn more about us here!

Currently, 1.4 million refugees worldwide are in urgent need of resettlement. In 2019, only 4.5% of these global resettlement needs were met. This means that there is a significant demand for amplified safe and legal complementary resettlement opportunities, including humanitarian visas, family reunification, academic scholarships and private or community sponsorship. Such opportunities remain scarce and are difficult to identify. At Refugee Pathways, we research such opportunities and make the availanble on our easily accessible information platform, which is free of charge and available to everyone. Though we are a 100% volunteer-based organization, we have expenses each year, so that our platform can remain free for refugees and everyone else around the world.

With this campaign, we are launching three calls to action:

1. Share our platform with your network!

Information is power. Do you know someone who works with refugees? Share our platform with them or tag them in the comments on our social media. By connecting others with our content, you directly impact the lives of refugees. We research each legal pathway so that refugees don’t have to. Our resources are 100% free and can be life-saving — share them.

2. Advocate for more Complementary Pathways!

Encourage your government to offer reliable humanitarian visas, family reunification processes, private sponsorship and academic opportunities to refugees and displaced people. See if your country has a family reunification program on Refugee Pathways, and then write to your government to encourage the creation or strengthening of a program. If your country is not listed, write to your government to advocate for the lauch of complementary resettlement opportunties. Need guidance? Write us — we are glad to assist! Or, does your country have a humanitarian visa program? Write to your government and demand they support this pathway for refugees in your country.

3. Donate!

It costs $1,800 a year to research and promote complementary resettlement for the world’s displaced people. Will you be a part of this work? You can find our fundraising campaign here. Our goal is both humble and critical — to raise $1,800 by September 1, 2020. Through your donation, you will join us as a strong voice for refugees and play an enormous role in protecting the world’s displaced. Can they count on you?

Thank you for your invaluable support in increasing awareness around legal complementary resettlement pathways for refugees and for supporting us.
